Hello everyone,

I am a student in the UK from Turkey. I am planning to travel through Europe in June but I am really confused about the required travel pass and I do not understand if I need a Schengen Visa or not.
I have been in the UK since 1 October 2010 (I've been to Turkey for ten days in January, otherwise I have always been in the UK) and my Tier 4 student visa expires in February 2012.
In my case do I need a Schengen Visa or not? Which one do I fit in Eurail or Interrail?

Many thanks for your help.

Hi.

You will always have to travel by InterRail - as Turkey belongs to Europe in the sense of InterRail.
Officially you will have to buy a UK InterRail pass (country of residence in the UK - no free travel in the UK) if you stayed more than 6 months in the UK on your first day of travel (Important: you have to proof this by official documents such as your visa).
Otherwise select Turkey as your country of residence (free travel then in the UK).

At the online shop simply select at the entry site in the top right corner UK or Turkey. This is the country you want your ticket get send to.
Later when entering your personal data, select Turkey which is then your country of residence - or UK ...

As the UK doesn't belong to the Schengen countries, you have to organize a Schengen visa - at least that's my information - I am not a visa specialist. Just ask at one of the countries embassies you want to visit. But should be easy to do with your UK visa.

Have sunny travel days, Peter :)
