I am 72, so dont know whether senior ticket is any use, or is a interail pass of use, Would spend 1 night in Paris and 1 night in Stockholm.

Hi!
With an InterRail ticket:
- Invernesss - London: ~60€
- London - Paris: 159€
- Paris - Basel: 8€ with TGV via Strasbourg or free with Intercité via Belfort
- Basel - Kobenhavn: 105€ in a deluxe single sleeper
- Kobenhavn - Stockholm: 17€
- Stockholm - Oslo: free until the border to Norway (you are a Norwegian citizen, right?), from there you need a regular ticket to Bergen.
The 5in10 could be an option, it is 349€ for seniors in 1st class.
Total (roughly): 698€ plus domestic travel in Norway
Regular prices:
- Inverness - London: ~155€
- London - Paris: depends on booking date, I checked for 2 months ahead and get starting at 117,50€
- Paris - Basel: same here, regular price with the TGV, 1st class is 154€ but there are offers at 124€ as well
- Basel - Kobenhavn: 219€
- Kobenhavn - Stockholm: prices for the Malmö - Stockholm X2 start at ~60€ (1st class), going from Kobenhavn (which I couldnt reserve online) will be a little more expensive so calculate with ~70-80€ at least
- Stockholm - Oslo: prices start at ~42€ (like on the above connection this is depending on booking date and flexibility of the ticket in case you want to exchange it)
Total (roughly): 717€ plus domestic travel in Norway
You see, total is almost the same, considering that you will get a 50% discount on train travel in Norway with your InterRail ticket it seems to be quite a good offer.
If you need more detailed help just let me know! :)

Flow, thank you for that information, it certainly makes it a viable trip for me. I must admit that i do fancy doing it all 1st class. If I do the trip it may not be untill october anyway. I think your price for the Caledonian Sleeper Inverness to London seems abit low !!, but could sort that when i booked.
thanks again. Graham.

Hi Graham,
if you need more help when it comes to the trip just post here. :)
All the prices I mentioned are for 1st class travel. The price for the Caldonian Sleeper was quoted for ~2 weeks in advance; I just now checked for a first class single sleeper trip tomorrow and this would be ~210€.
