Hi,
I'm travelling with a 60 litre Lafuma backpack since 2006 and it has never let me down. The size is fine for longer (1 month and more) and shorter trips as you can extend it a little to ~70 litres. I wouldnt recommend a much bigger size as it then probably will be to heavy to carry around. For a 15 day trip you might even be fine with a little smaller size like 45 litres depending on what equipment you want to bring with you.
I paid ~150€ for mine back in the day.

Gelert Core 55+10 Rucksack
I got a 60 + 15 litre backpack for similar price if not a bit cheaper only 2 months ago so its worth checking amazon frequently.
I live in ireland and it took 3 days to come from the uk. Look out for special offers that include free delivery on some of the backpacks

Is a 60L bag not massively heavy to carry?? What height are you flo? I was thinking more of like a 35L bag for a 3 week journey, is that too small? Im only 5 ft 2 and dont want my back hurting on the journey! Though on the other hand, maybe 35L wont hold alot? Im a heavy packer :(

I did a 3 week journey last summer with a 70 liter backpack. I don't think the backpack weighs much, mine is like 2 kg. What weighs is the amount of stuff you put in it. In my case i overdid it and ended up with a heavy backpack. Just resist the urge to fill it and you won't have much problems. Besides in my experience you never carry it in your back for too long. Just from train stations to the hostel as they generally have a luggage room you can deposit yours even before checking in.

Hi Mates!
i have the same question! I will travel four weeks across western europe with a tent and a camping stove...the guys in the outdoorshops recommended me to buy a 80ltr or more Rucksack. I know it can get really heavy, depends what i put in it...but the Rucksack should be adequate for further journeys which can be longer or in winter.
What do you think about the recommendation...and do you have a special type which you can recommend me...shouldnt be the lowest quality and not the mercedes under the rucksacks!
Thanks

Hi.
80l or more is a lot. But if you want to use it for future longer travels, buy it. You don't have to fill it upo completely.
The best is always to put bottles with a total weight of 15 to 20kg of water in a bag pack and try to walk one kilometer. To get a feeling if you carry too much with you or if you can handle it. :)
