Hello,
I have worked out a route for an Interrail trip this summer with my friend - Rotterdam - Berlin - Prague - Nurnberg - Stuttgart - Strasbourg/Kehl - Brussels.
However, after working out this route I have realized we will have 3/4 days left on our pass. I have checked already on this website for information, but in case it is out of date, I was wondering if it was feasible to add Krakow? This would take us from Berlin, to Krakow for a few days, before then travelling on to Prague. Which trains would be the most convenient, and do they require reservations or supplements?
Thanks! :)

Hi!
If you want to add Krakow, I'd recommend to take the direct day train:
Berlin 0935 - 1947 Krakow
As long as you dont travel with overnight trains you wont need any reservation at all...only for Krakow - Praha in case you decide to go there. And take care not to use a TGV train for the Stuttgart - Strasbourg leg then you'll be fine. :)

EDIT: And dont use the bus between Praha and Nürnberg! It is operated by DB and can be used with InterRail but requires a reservation. Instead use the regular trains which are a little slower but without reservation.

Wow, that was a very quick reply, many thanks. :)
Ah, thanks for bringing the direct route to my attention, I'm not exactly an Interrail veteran so I sometimes miss the most simple routes and choose the complicated ones! Also thank you for the advice on reservations.
For Stuttgart-Strasbourg, I was thinking of travelling by the regional routes via Karlsruhe and Offenburg. Ah yes, thanks once more for the advice on Praha-Nurnberg, very useful.
That's the second time I've been helped out by the users of this forum, it's a brilliant place to ask the experts! :)

Quick question to confirm - while I realise there is no compulsory reservation necessary for the day Berlin-Krakow train, do you know if there are any supplements added?
Finally, last question I promise :D . Living in the UK it isn't possible to reserve a 2-bed sleeper on the Krakow-Prague night train. I was going to wait until we arrive in Berlin to reserve the sleeper at the train station there, but only several days in advance. I would like to know if I am leaving it too late to reserve the sleeper on the Krakow-Prague train, is it often fully-booked or unavailable?
I have tried booking the tickets in advance via the RailEur*pe website but the total price does not include the discounts added from our InterRail passes.

Reservation for Karkow-Prague should be fine at Berlin main station.

Thank you very much for the information. :)
Sorry if I am asking obvious questions, it's my first time Interrailing and the overnight sleeper trains are the routes which concern me the most, so thanks for putting my mind at ease. :)
