Hi, I would like to know what are the train companies that work with interrail global pass in Italy, . My suggestion is: in future posts about the train schedules it would be better to put the link where the info came from below, so that who was consulting could check in the train company site if the info was actualized.
I searched the schedules of railcc but for example the route Roma/Firenze just exists with night trains, and for me that's not necessary.
If I knew the site form the train companies I think it would be easier to search more detailed schedules of daily trains in Italy, and in other countries that I don't know if the information here is enough.
Thanks.

Hi!
We try to keep the content on this website/forum always up to date. That is not an easy task of course but we do our best. ;) Our aim is to provide the best information on InterRail on a single website. If we would only post links to other sites one would always have to search through many different sites and that is not what we want.
Many websites of railway companies are also quite tricky to handle if you search for a specific schedule. That's why I think it is better to compile train schedules here as well.
The schedules on this site are usually kept up to date - the topic itself might be from 2008/2009/2010 but you can read at the bottom when it was last updated.
The reason why the route Firenze/Roma only exists for night trains is that there are three fast trains per hour running throughout the day. And you can get the detailed timings with the schedule planner that is linked on this site. We have listed the night trains because we not only show the schedule but more important the different reservation fees for this trains. You usually dont find these on the websites of the train companies...
Speaking about Italy. There are no PDF timetables for Trenitalia trains online, you can only search timings with the schedule planner. There are PDF timetables for the different private rail companies in Italy available but the arent much useful as those companies do not accept InterRail.
Train schedules Italy: https://rail.cc/en/search-train-route
Train types Italy: https://rail.cc/en/train-type/italy/it
Reservations and supplements Italy: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/italy/it
I hope I have answered all questions. :)

PS: There will be an updated version of the website online soon.

Very, very easy. Like in about all of Europe till very. very recently ONLY the main state railways take this pass. In IT that is Ferrovie delle Stato-for a while they named it Trenitalia.
SOMER+very feew minor sidelines are served by other train''companies''=not commercial, mostly owned by the provinzie or regione and not the stato. They do NOT take IR. But the tickets are quite cheap and the distance not long. Anyway-the average IR will not even see them on his/her normal haunts.
ONly in the daft UK they have a multitude of train companies on the same route.
