Hey everybody,
I'm planning to go to Scandinavia this summer and was thinking about this route:
Groningen-Copenhagen-Goteborg-Oslo-Trontheim-Bodo-Narvik -Lulea-Olulu -Kontiomaki -Kuopio- Tampere-Turku-Stockholm-Oslo/Chopenhagen.
I' dont know how many days is reasonable to do this tirp. Also there is an idea to start this trip in Oslo by flying from Amsterdam.
Bodo-Narvik would be a ferry/bus, Lulea-Olulu also and Turku- Stochkolm would be also a ferry. I want to spent a night in Trontheim, Narvik, Olulo, Kuopio, and somwhere between Stockholm and Oslo.
Does anybody have an experience to share about travelling (part of) this route?
Thanks a lot!

Hi!
We've been to Denmark, Sweden and Norway last summer so this is what I can tell you:
Groningen - Kobenhavn: I would recommend to go via Leer and Hamburg, it is a ~10 hour trip
From there you have good day connections to Göteborg and on to Oslo. If you are travelling in the summer you could also use a night train to Oslo from Malmö and go to Göteborg on your way back (Stockholm - Göteborg - Kobenhavn - Groningen). I would say that ~2 days are enough for all cities up to now.
The route Oslo - Trondheim - Bodo is really nice so it is worth travelling the by day - but there would be night trains as well if you want to save on accomodation costs.
Have you thought about going to the Lofoten? Trondheim - Bodo is a really nice route by train during the day, the only problem is that you would miss the fast ferry to Svolvaer and either have to stay overnight in Bodo (could be expensive) or take the overnight ferry to Moskenes (I dont know if they carry foot passengers but I'd say so).
Either way have a look here: https://rail.cc/en/bodoe-narvik-hurtigruten-lofoten-bus/f1285
From Narvik (where there is not really much to see) you can take a direct train to Lulea and continue to Finland the following day. An interesting detour would be to go Narvik - Gällivare - Östersund with the Inlandsbana: https://rail.cc/en/inlandsbanan/f1333 Then to Stockholm for the ferry to Turku/Helsinki and make the Finland trip the other way round until you reach Lulea. From Lulea with the night train to Stockholm again and continue back home.
How long have you planned to go? ~3 weeks would be a minimum for that kind of trip I'd say. :)
