Me and my friend are travelling around europe in a month or so, instead of getting the global pass it will be cheaper for us to get a 4 day travel pass in France and then the same in spain for example. With the france pass can we use one of our days of travel to cross into Spain and then Start our Spain pass another Day?

Thanks in advance to any help given

Hi James!

There are three train border crossings between FR and ES: Hendaye/Irun, Latour de Carol and Cerbère/Portbou. An InterRail One Country pass FR is valid until Irun/Latour de Carol/Portbou. At these stations the validity of the One Country pass ES begins. On the way back the ES pass is valid until Hendaye/Latour de Carol/Cebère, from where you have to use the FR pass.

If you cross the border you will have to validate one day for each of the passes! Ie if you go Paris - Portbou in the morning you will have to mark one day in your FR pass; if you then continue to Barcelona in the afternoon you will have to mark one day in your ES pass.
