Are travellers Cheques still a good way to go? I could imagine using taking these to banks every few days would be better than taking all the cash required for a trip.

I have a credit card that i will use too but it has a £500 limit on it and that will only cover accomodation and some other bits and pieces. I dont want to be left with a huge charges for an overused account

Hi.
My opinion: forget about the traveler cheques.
Very very old style... and often it will take a long time at a bank until you get the money for it.
Simply use your banking card (Maestro symbol on it) at ATMs or Credit Cards - there are prepaid credit cards available.
If you are from Germany (maybe as well available for other countries) check the ones of DKB (you can get your money free of commission fees out of ATMs everywhere on the world).
Peter :)

TC are for a a century ago-and only for countries where they use english and have english-style banking. Iike the USA, Canada etc. In eastern-Europe noone will even want to have them or willing to exchange.
