Hi,

My girlfriend and I will be in Rome in June this year, but we're struggling to find a budget hostel (double room if poss) that includes a kitchen area - does anyone have any recommendations? Is it expensive to eat out in Rome?!

Thanks.

Hi!

I've just been to Roma last week...Hostel Pop Inn just across Termini, the main station. They dont have a kitchen so no good choice for you. However, there was a nice little restaurant just around the corner where I had best Italian food every evening - pizza and pasta starting at 5€, beer 3€.
In the city centre you will find lots of restaurants that offer tourist menus at around 10-12€ but I didnt go there, liked my restaurant too much. :D

Also have a look in Trastevere where you will find lots of nice places to eat out.

Hi, I am planning on staying in Rome 13th-17th June. I did look up the suggestion for Hostel Pop, but its coming up at 270 euros for 2 adults for 3 nights in a mixed dorm. I wondered if you had any other cheaper suggestions, central location would be very appreciated as I think the metro line is down until 2012, thanx.

Hi,

I paid ~22€ per night in the Pop Inn in February...I have no idea why there is such a huge price increase. :|

Do not really have another recommendation, sorry. Maybe The Yellow, a friend of mine stayed there and did like it.

Hi there,
I went to Rome in May and stayed at a variety of places-all very good and cheap (€30-40 a night). I used a website called 'www.cross-pollinate.com' which provides you with a good deal of choice at different price brackets. The one place that stood out for me was 'The Beehive' which is located near to Termini yet is still very much within walking distance of the 'city centre' if you like.
Hope this helps,
George
