Hi,

We're currently trying to plan a trip around Europe and we're hoping to do the above route. Hopefully we could do this using the 5 day travel within 10 days. The plan was to stay in Paris for a few days before setting off on an Interail ticket to Marseille and onward. We are also hoping to take the ferry from Barcelona to Italy before heading north and finally into Croatia.

It was advised that travelling around Croatia may be cheaper if we buy the rail tickets domestically, rather than using the Interail ticket. This would mean that we didn't have to use any more days of the Interail ticket once we reach Croatia, we would simply need to get there from Italy. Can anyone give advice on the feasibility of this trip, and whether travelling around Croatia is easy enough by buying domestic train tickets there?

Any help/suggestions/advise would be much appreciated! Thanks a lot!

Hi!

- With an InterRail ticket you get a 20% discount for the Barcelona - Civitavecchia ferry operated by Grimaldi lines.

If you are going Paris - Marseille - Barcelona - Roma - Croatia, you can make quite good use of the 5in10 pass. Remember that you will have to pay for a reservation on the Paris - Marseille TGV as well as for the fastest connection Marseille - Barcelona and Roma - Venezia.

I would recommend to make a stop in between Roma and Croatia, maybe in Venezia? For Croatia, regular tickets should be fine, it's no problem purchasing them locally at a station.
