Hi,
I wonder if one can buy the ticket in Sweden and then start the journey for ex. in Great Britian? How does it work - do one just jump on the train of ones choice? Do one have to book seats in advance or just take the chance of free places? Can i use all kind of trains like for ex. IC in Germany? Can i also use the ticket in my home country?

Thanks for answering :D

Hi.
Have a look at this topic: https://rail.cc/en/first-time-interrail
Some trains need a supplement, some not. Always do it this way:

1) Use the schedule planer: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
2) Compare it to the supplements: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
3) Check the country topics for more information and on how to avoid these supplements: https://rail.cc/en/countries

You can start and end wherever you want.

You can not travel for free in your country of residence: https://rail.cc/en/how-to-interrail

IC trains in Germany are free of any supplements - just enter the train and sit down. :)

Peter :)
