Hi.
The Virgin trains are included in the InterRail pass like all other private rail companies in the UK.
Of course your country of residence does not have to be the UK.

You dont need a reservation. But you should get one free of charge if you want to.

You do not need a reservation no - local hint for you:

If you are on a virgin train and you are at the station early enough to have to wait before a platform comes up then head to coach E in the middle of the train. Always totally unreserved :)

I assume this applies for the Virgin Pendolino trains - and not for the Super Voyager trains?

Yes - only the pendilinos but all of them.

If you cannot make a reservation due to fullness (very rare) then there are still those 40 or so seats
