Oooh. Just realizing how few days that are left till I'll go Interrailing. My first stop is Berlin and I'm looking for a hostel that isn't too far away from the Central station. I've been looking at Jetpack Alternative and it seems to be located in some interesting surroundings.
But really what I'm looking for the most is a place that isn't too hard to find (I have not decided if I should take a taxi from the central station yet - in that case how expensive might that be?) and quick to get to walking. I am browsing through [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux] but so many options!
Got any experiences/recommendations, please share!

In Berlin I always stay at Wombats. Great place to be and not too far away from the central station: Go with S-Bahn (direction Ostbahnhof) until station Hackescher Markt, from there it's a ~10min walk.

Hi.
I stayed at the Generator Hostel which was really cool if you want to meet a lot of people and have a nice party. The hostel has it's own bar, where the drinks and beers are very cheap. I was there during easter and there was some sport tournaments in Berlin at the moment so the Hostel was full, and there was a very nice party each night. It is approximatly 8 minutes away from Alexanderplatz with the Tram. There is okay food and the toilets are clean. The rooms are very nice as well, I stayed in a dorm, which had a VERY nice bed. The staff is also very nice.

I remember staying at a hostel at Mehringdamm on the U6, cheap, amazing continental breakfast for free and clean/safe!
