Hello everybody!
I am thinking about doing Inter rail for some time now, and I finally decided to do it next summer with some friends. I need some informations please.

1)We are thinking about visiting Oriental Europe: Slovenia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Croatia... Could you tell me the best(fastest) way to go from Portugal to Oriental Europe by train?

2)Are 22 days enough or is it necessary to go for a month?

3)Is it safe to camp ?

4)We will be around 9 people, how much will It cost this adventure

Thanks in advance

Hi!

1) I would recommend to go with the Surex to Irun, then with TGV to Paris. Maybe spend one or two days there, then take the overnight train to München and continue either via Wien to Budapest or via Villach to Ljubljana. Then you can decide how to travel through Eastern Europe.

2) I would say 22 days are enough when you take a plane back home. If you want to travel back by train I would recommend to take the ticket for 1 month. :)

3) In most countries it isnt allowed to camp anywhere except for campsites...I wouldnt recommend it anyway except in very remote areas.

4) In addition to the ticket I would calculate with ~30-70€ extra reservations depending on how often you want to travel with night trains and what comfort you want then (regular seat, couchette or sleeper). For accomodation, food etc I would calculate with 15-25€ per day.
