Hi,
I'm looking to start booking hostels and possibly book some trains (the right thing to do?) for a month starting june, I've seen that the thomas cook rail timetable doesn't come out until the 1st of June and the timetables on the reservations website only goes up to the 11th or so. What I'm wondering is how much the timetables change from year to year/season to season. If I use the current timetables on the internet journey planners will I be able to get a rough idea of idea of when trains are so I can see if I'm getting a night train or staying in a hostel without fear it will all change?

Hi,
the timetable change in mid-June is only minor. You can already plan your trip for the summer with the currently available timings. However, if you plan purchasing the Thomas Cook I would wait for the Summer edition to have the latest timetables with you. :)
Otherwise you should be fine, as usually only small alterations are to be expected (if any).

Hi Aaron,
I usually order it online, usually comes within 2 or 3 days to Austria. :) Make sure to get the updated version for June with the new schedules, not the May version.

can order:
1.direct at thomascookpublications
2.at amazon.co.uk (NOT the US-based .com!)-this is often a few GBP cheaper0due to less postage.
NOte there are 2 different versions:
1.-the cheaper comes every month-the june will have the summer times
2.they also do a kind of ''hyped up'' Interrail/summer issue-has harder cover and a few more notes-cost more.
TIP: if you look now-take a same day-like sun day-as this is the most determining factor for train times.
