Hi all. Myself and 4 other friends are going interrailing for the first time this summer in July. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice about that route or should re-arrange it ? We'll be away for around 14-16 days.
Any advice is welcomed thank you.

Hi Paul,
first of all where do you start off?
you should definately consider visiting more cities! if you spend 2 days in each city you have still about 6-8 days left.
you should go to hamburg (in between amsterdam and berlin). second biggest city in germany and very beautiful!
maybe ghent in belgium or a city in poland (krakow?) would be worth it although i can't comment on these cities as i haven't been there yet.

I think we're starting in Paris. We have discussed about going to more cities but we're using the 10 days in 22 and also we're students so we'll be doing it on the cheap.!

We now have a revised plan now
Dublin-Brussels-Amsterdam-Berlin-Warsaw-Prague and then home. We haven't decided on the best route home yet and we're defo flying to Brussels and spending a day tops there. Any advice/info what to see and not to see in those cities would be great. We'll away for 14-16 days so it seems pretty reasonable.

Hi!
For that route I would consider a 5in10 pass - which would save you quite some money. If you want to go with the 10in22 think about adding one or two more cities to get your money 's worth. Paris is really nice...of course it would be better suited as a starting point of your trip.
Definitely have a look at Brugge and Antwerpen in Belgium and Krakow in Poland.

Cheers Flo. We're using two days as the very minimum that we're gonna spend. We have Krakow,Bratisalva,Bruges,Budapest and Hamburg as an extra option so we'll see what happens. Have you been to any of the cities I listed ? Any tips on them ?

- Bruxelles: Not too exiting. But can serve as a base for visiting Antwerpen and Brugge which are only a short trip by train away.
- Brugge: Probably the nicest city in Belgium, narrow streets, old houses, canals,...wouldnt miss it.
- Antwerpen: Also a rather nice old town, but more similar to Bruxelles than to Brugge.
- Amsterdam: Lots of tourists and touristy stuff, can be rather expensive IMO. But if you turn into a side Gracht off the main tourist routes it can be really nice. Maybe hire a bike and explore the place on your own.
- Berlin: Lots of nightlife, I think you will get enough tips by the hostel staff which usually know their city very well.
- Praha: Like Amsterdam, try to stay away from the main tourist routes and you can experience a much more original city. But dont miss out the main attractions as Charles Bridge, Veitsdom and castle,...
- Budapest: If you can, go to! A very nice city, great nightlife, nice architecture...I really like it there. :)
