Hi,

I will be staying in Venlo for a week in february and I would like to purchase the Interrailpass for some trips near and around Venlo.

I tried to use the Rout planner but it seems kind of hard for me.

Just a few questions:

1. Can I buy the interrail pass from the railway station in Venlo? unfortunately, it's too late for me to buy a pass online as I will not get the shipment until I will leave the country.

2. Can I use the interrail pass to travel between Venlo and Brussels, Maastricht, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Antwerpen and Louxembourg without having to pay additional fees and if yes, which trains should I use? Generally speaking I will leave Venlo in the morning for my destination and return as late as possible.

Thank you very much!

Hi.

1: Yes - should be possible. Pay attention to get a correct printed one.

2: Have a look at the supplements website:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
Compare it to the train schedules: https://rail.cc/en/search-train-route
In general: simply avoid the Thalys trains.
More details and connections in the country topics: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

Hi Peter,

Thank you for your message.

Do you have a sample (picture) of the interrail pass so I know that what I buy is correct?

Also. I have heard that you cannot buy the pass for Benelux from Holland, for example. I heard you can only buy it from another country than the one you are using it in. I AM intetitled to a Benelux pass because I am not a citizen of either of these countries.

Thanks!

Hi,

I've added an example picture below. It is a 4 day one country pass for Switzerland. I've only blackened personal details. ;)

It was issued by ÖBB, so in the top left corner it should say NS when you purchase it in the Netherlands. Just pay attention that the details in the top right corner are correct - name, country, pass id and date of birth. :)
