Hi there

i would like to start discovering ex-yoguslavia. im planning to start with slovenia and croatia

do you guys have any recommendations where you have to go in croatia (and slovenia but especially croatia) except for: zagreb, zadar, split, hvar, dubrovnik? (slovenia: ljubjlana and maribor)

or do you even think that one of cities i listed above isn't worth visiting?

Thanks in advance!

Looking for the same advice as I will be visiting these 2 countries as well. I think Ljubljana, Zagreb and Split are a must.

I will probably do it this way: (flight to) dubrovnik, split, zadar, zagreb, ljubljana, maribor and then back home either by plane or by train..

i will spend some more time in dubrovnik and split - visiting the cities, trogir and some islands.

however, i don't think that IR-ticket is worth it as I will probably take a plane both ways. also croatia is more a bus country than a train counrty as buses are cheap and the train system along the coast is quite poor -> see topic bus connections in croatia folder. i thought about doing it this way:

dubrovnik - split BUS
split-zadar BUS
zadar - zagreb BUS
Zagreb - Ljubuljana TRAIN/BUS
} dont know which one is better..
Ljubljana - maribor TRAIN/BUS

what do you think? Are ferries cheaper with IR ticket?
