So I went interailling last year and loved it. Then I went Munich > Ljubljana > Zagreb > Budapest > Bratislava > Vienna > Prague > Berlin > Amsterdam.

Looking to go again this year but only for 16days as its all I can get off from work. Wanting to go to Krakow as I didnt get there last year and I have heard its a great place to go for the fun times.

Wanting to stay in Eastern Europe to keep it cheap and avoiding the cities I went to last year and also looking for a good time. Hoping some people with experience might be able to tell me some good place to go that a lively and friendly, doesnt have to be larger towns and cities, could be one of the those gems you heard about on your travels.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jason

Hi Jason,

glad you enjoyed your trip last year! :)

Krakow is certainly a nice place to go, I think there are even good connections to the UK with Ryanair and the like?

I would definitely recommend to go to Montenegro, a beautiful little country. If you are interested in the smaller cities as well you could work your way from Krakow through Slovakia and Hungary towards the Balkan, maybe like this:

Krakow - Zilina/Presov/Kosice - Budapest - Pecs - Osijek - Sarajevo - Mostar - Ploce - by bus via Dubrovnik to Montenegro (Kotor/Bar/Podgorica/Cetinje) - Beograd and back home, depending from where you find a good flight. Dont miss out the spectacular train ride from Podgorica to Beograd!

Maybe this helps you to make a first possible route... :)
