Hi all,
I'm brand new to this whole inter-railing thing. Im thinking of going in the summer and would like to start the journey going from Paris to Geneva. Can anyone advise me on the best train to get? Is the TGV difficult to book and is it expensive? Or what other trains could we get instead?

All help appreciated please!

Hi!

There are several direct connections from Paris Gare de Lyon to Geneve. When travelling with InterRail these require an additional reservation. I think it is 10€, but you can try to get one cheaper online as described here: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/tgv-sncf/42

Alternatives are considerably slower (TGV: 3h) with travel times around ~8h and more. So I would recommend to take the TGV.

Hi,

just follow the link I have posted above tgv reservation peak period, there you will find the information. Tell me if it doesnt work out! :)

EDIT: OK, I just checked myself and it doesnt work for Geneve becuase it is in Switzerland. So, there is no way to get it online, instead you have to do it directly at a railway station.
