Hi,

My wife and I are thinking about doing the following interrail route in February over a period of about 3 weeks:

Rome-Florence-Venice-Innsbruck-Munich-(Salzburg?)-Vienna-(Prague?)-Krakow-Budapest-(Brasov?)-Bucharest-Istanbul

I've put optional stops in brackets.

Here are my questions:

- Is it worth getting a 10 in 22 rail pass or not?
- Any suggestions re the itinerary?
- We're thinking of doing 2 or 3 days skiing in Innsbruck. I was thinking we'd stay in a hostel in Innsbruck, rent some equipment and get the ski bus. Would this be the cheapest way to do it or would it be better to look for a package in one of the villages nearby?

Any advice much appreciated.

Hi.
I think the 10 in 22 InterRail pass is worth on this big trip as you are traveling a lot - that's the sense of this rail pass.
Your itinerary looks good.
Of course adding Salzburg, Prague and Brasov (Draculas castle) would be nice - but depends on your time. Maybe decide spontaneously...

In Italy pay attention and avoid the Eurostar Italia trains (supplement EUR 10). Better to use IC trains:

About skiing in Innsbruck I can't give you details.
But Austria and Germany is easy to travel by train - a frequent connections and most of the trains are free of supplements.
Just use the schedule planer: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

Munich - Prague: https://rail.cc/en/munich-prague-train/f5108

Prague - Krakow: https://rail.cc/en/prague-krakow-night-train/f4027
Or by day trains.

Krakow - Vienna: https://rail.cc/en/krakow-vienna-night-train/f1903
Or by day trains.

Vienna - Budapest: https://rail.cc/en/vienna-budapest-train-railje/f1999

Budapest - Brasov - Bucharest: stop in Brasov for the day and continue in the evening to Bucharest:
