Hello,
I have read the worrying news about decrease of train service in Greece as of this winter. Which means that any train travel in, to or from Greece may be very difficult.
I was planning to visit the Peloponnesus by train this summer for 3-4 days with my two children (9 and 12). Has anyone done it already ? Easy ? Difficult ? What are the best stops ? Sights ? Places to sleep ?
Thanks for any information you could provide. Will decide closer to the summer what we do: I guess it will depend on whether there are trains or not ...
Thanks !

Hello!
Well even at good times a round of Peloponnese by train was not possible...and it remains impossible.. at least by train.
Patras Kiato and Korinthos have train routes but i suggest to give a look to Nafplion, Killini and Pylos.
Do you have something in mind or any preferences?

it was possible-somehow, but not in 1 day.
SOme trains still run, but only untill the engines fail-then it is end of all.
BUS is very much (and was also) the preferred method of travel there anyway. They go everyhwere and on the main road along the peninsula about hourly or even more. Children under 10 or 12 pay only half. BTW-those trains were not that good there anyway-the main draw was they were cheap. And ''free'' with a IR-pass.
for your other Qs-start with reading a decent guidebook. Sparta and Olympia are main antique draws.
