Hi
First time interrail-er and was wondering about the best way to get from Brasov to Belgrade, avoiding Bucharest?

Thank you!

Hi.

The best connection is:

Brasov dep: 1540 | Express train - free of supplements
Bucuresti Nord Gara A arr: 1934

Bucuresti Nord Gara A dep: 2045 | night train: https://rail.cc/en/bucharest-belgrade-night-train/f4775
Beograd arr: 0851

It's not a big thing to change the train there. As the night train starts in Bucharest, it will be ready for boarding at least 30 minutes before departure.

If you want to avoid Bucharest, you will have to travel via Arad and wait the whole night in Timisoara until you can get to the same night train to Belgrade.

Or you travel via Budapest:

1
Brasov dep: 2113 | night train: https://rail.cc/en/bucharest-budapest-night-train/f1606
Budapest-Keleti pu arr: 0850

Budapest-Keleti pu dep: 1005 - free of supplements
Beograd arr: 1745

2
Brasov dep: 0656 | supplement EUR 3
Budapest-Keleti pu arr: 1850

Budapest-Keleti pu dep: 2330 | night train: https://rail.cc/en/budapest-belgrade-night-train/f3370
Beograd arr: 0649

ALL long-distance trains in ROM/on the CFR MUST be reserved-and every time you also pay (a little-1,50€) for that. If you do not do that, the conductor can charge you double that price.
