Do I have to choose a date of starting my trip while booking

Hi,
I wanted to make my friend a gift and buy her the interrail ticket ( of course we will be traveling together ), but of course I do not know the exact date when we will start our trip. Is it necessary to buy the ticket or can I fulfill it later on my own ?

you have to specify the startin date of the ticket when purchasing it, sorry. :os

Or maybe you can make some kind of voucher as a present and buy the ticket later? :)

Good idea, actually I've been thinking about it. Shame interrail doesn't sell such vouchers, cause so far I have no idea how to do it nicely, but I have some time, I'll think it up I hope ;)
