Hi,
I'm planning a trip in the summer and wanted to go to the Platvice National park in croatia and then on to athens. Have been looking at possible methods for getting to athens and so far have seen that there is a ferry to italy and then a ferry from italy to greece. Is there a more direct way or any route by train as i will be getting an inter rail ticket.
Any help would be great!

Hi.
First think: currently the train service in Greece is very limited. Please read this topic first:
https://rail.cc/en/new-trains-from-thessaloniki-to-skopje-belgrade-and-sofia/f5508
You have the option by train via Serbia and Bulgaria.
https://rail.cc/en/split-athens-train/f5467
Or like you said...
First by ferry to Italy, then again by ferry from Italy to Greece:
https://rail.cc/en/ferry-croatia-italy/f2339
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-ferry/italy/it
Maybe there are as well more direct connections by bus - but I don't have information about it.
Peter :)

Unfortunately international routes are not available to/from Greece..
I think they are busses from Serbia to Thessaloniki and then you can continue by train to Athens.
Ferries work without problems but the route you described would take a bit more time..if you got time then it's a nice route..
