I'm flying into Geneva and then hoping to head to Munich but cant seem to find a good route between the two. Am i missing an obvious one or is this not very easy. Munich would only be a stop over on the way to Prague, mostly for a night in the beer halls so am also open to any other suggestions if anyone can help. This is the biggest stumbling block on my trip in terms of planning so would appreciate the help as iv hit a brick wall.

Hi!

From Geneve, take one of the frequent (half-hourly) IC/ICN trains to Zürich HB. From there you have four daily EC trains to München. A slightly longer alternative would be via Bern - Basel - Karlsruhe - Stuttgart.

Examples:

Geneve 0610 - 0756 Bern
Bern 0802 - 0858 Zürich
Zürich 0916 - 1328 München

Geneve 0945 - 1228 Zürich
Zürich 1316 - 1728 München

Geneve 1445 - 1728 Zürich
Zürich 1816 - 2245 München

Note that if you change at Bern you can save about half an hour as shown in the first connection - same applies for the two other connections.
From Bex you have to change in Lausanne, trains from Bex then leave at 0536, 0936, 1436
