What is the best route for that trip?

I'm interested in visiting Istanbul at the second half of January next year and I don't really what is the best and cheapest way to go there.
Maybe Mostar-Podgorica-Priština-Sofia-Istanbul? Or something else, can someone check this up for me?

Hi.

If you want to travel the whole trip by train, you have to do it this way:

Split dep: 1434 | IC train - https://rail.cc/en/night-train/zagreb-split-b821/129
Zagreb Glavni Kolod. arr: 2021

Zagreb Glavni Kolod. dep: 2355 | night train: https://rail.cc/en/zagreb-belgrade-night-train/f1896
Beograd arr: 0611

Beograd dep: 0750 | night train: https://rail.cc/en/belgrade-istanbul-night-train/f3567
Istanbul Sirkeci arr: 0750
Yes. It is an exact travel time of 24 hours. I didn't misspelled it. ;)

The normal fare for a single train ticket without any discounts is ~ EUR 160 (you will have to add the supplements for the night trains).
So an InterRail pass might be a cheaper option for you.
Ask at the train station in Split for a single train ticket.
An InterRail ticket is available online via our partner: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
