hey,
this is my frist eurotrip and I am organizing it for a lot of people so I want to make sure I do it right.
my trip would go something like this:

Valencia- Spain,
Paris- France,
Luxembourg city- Luxembourg,
Brussels- Belgium,
Amsterdam- Netherlands,
Berlin -Germany,
Praha- Czech Republic,
Vienna -Austria,
Ljubljana- Slovenia,
Porec- Croatia,
Venice/ Milan/ Rome- Italy,
(ferry)
Barcelona -Spain,
Valencia- Spain

I thought that was ok but posts on this forum suggest that this is way too much to do in just one month.
any advice on how to do this or even which cities to cut would be greatly apreciated.
also any ways to save money would be great!
thank you!

Hi Juliane...

This trip is doable within one month.
Are you from Spain...? If this is the case, keep in mind that you can not travel for free in you country of residence, you only get a discount. Often it is cheaper to buy some special discounted tickets until the border to France.

On your way to France cross the Pyrenees...
Valencia-Barcelona-Pyrenees... then by night train to France. As the direct night train Barcelona-Paris is too expensive:
Via the Pyrenees: https://rail.cc/blog/little-yellow-train-video/
Expensive night train: https://rail.cc/en/barcelona-paris-night-train/f1040

Paris-Luxembourg is possible by direct trains (TGV with supplement - EUR 3):
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/france/fr

Luxembourg-Brussels-Amsterdam: use the free IC and Regional trains (frequent connections). Simply avoid in Benelux the THALYS trains, as they have huge supplements.

Amsterdam-Berlin: https://rail.cc/en/amsterdam-berlin-train/f2346

Berlin-Prague: https://rail.cc/en/berlin-prague-train/f3361

Prague-Vienna: https://rail.cc/en/prague-vienna-night-train/f1677

Vienna-Ljubljana: by day train

Slovenia-Venice: https://rail.cc/en/ljubljana-venice-train/f3663

From Italy you have to travel along the French coast to Barcelona. I recommend to have a stop in Nice. There is a nice hostel (Saint Exupery).

There is a direct night train from Italy to Spain - but with a heavy supplement!

Have a nice trip and if you want to support our work, buy your official rail passes at:

Thank you, Peter :)

thank you so much!
I'll definately make sure we buy our tickets on your site.
do you think I should book hostels in advance? if yes, how much in advance would be best?

Thanks... :)

Concerning hostels:
if you book a lot of them in advance, you are fixed on your route (sometimes it is possible to cancel reservations up to 24 hours in advance - but the reservation fee won't be refunded).
You have to find your own personal mix...
I definitely recommend to book in advance for Paris and Amsterdam. As both are at the beginning of you trip, it should be okay.

It also depends on your travel time ... if you travel before the beginning of June, it is much easier to get cheap and good hostel - in the summer months you have much more travelers and hostels get full easily.
Also think about using some night trains which you can book in advance - for example Amsterdam-Berlin, ...

A good hostel website is Hostelworld: [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux]

Have a nice evening, Peter :)
