Hi at all,
A friend and me are planning a Interrail-Tour next summer.
The tour should last about 18 days (+ max. 2 additional days!).
Our route at the moment:
Stuttgart - Praha - Warsaw - Vilnius - Riga - Tallinn - Helsinki - Turku - Stockholm - Gothenburg - back to Stuttgart via Flensburg
Is this route realistic?
We are planning to buy the 10-in-22 Pass.
Here we got a few questions:
- Will be one day omitted when we use the 50% discount on the ferries between Tallinn - Helsinki & Turku - Stockholm?
- Is it true, when we use a night train after 7 pm, that only one day will be omitted?
Thanks for responses.
Greetings from Germany

Hi!
- The main issue with your route is: InterRail is not valid in the Baltics! So you should either remodel your route or use InterRail only for travelling in Scandinavia (with a 5in10).
To answer the rest of your questions:
- The route itself could prove a little too ambitious - I think you will be happy if you make use of the two additional days. (International) rail connections in the Baltics are rather sparse (however there is supposed to be quite a good long-distance bus network) and maybe you want to stay a little bit longer at some places.
- Officially you will need one travel day for the ferry connections; however there are reports that it isnt checked too carefully at the ferryport...but I dont have personal experience.
- 1900-rule: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train
Then some basic information for InterRail startes: https://rail.cc/en/first-interrail-tour/f3303
So, if you still want to go this route, you probably wont need the 10in22 pass. Have a look for EuropaSpezial to Praha and back to Stuttgart. For the part in Eastern Europe I think regular tickets are the way to go - at least in the Baltics... ;)

Hi, thanks for the reply.
Yes, we already know that IR isn't valid in the baltics. We planned to drive by train to Sestokay, a town that borders Lithuania and Poland.
From there we want to go to Vilnius by train or bus (eurolines).
I talked with my friend about the route, an decided not to stay in Turku, we only want to enter the ferry there.
