Hi everyone.
My girlfriend and I are planning to do a trip across western Europe this summer and we want to see some nature also, so we are thinking about going to Switzerland and take the Glacier Ekspress or the Bernina Pass. But since the only thread i could find in here was on german I wonder wether anybody knows how much it cost exstra when you have an Interrailpass.

Sorry I found in the country topic of Switzerland.
But is there anybody that knows which of the to connections is best and which one is the cheapest to use?

Hi!
As you can read in the Glacier Express topic, there are both regional trains as well as the Glacier Express.
- Regional trains:
On the route Zermatt - Visp - Brig - Andermatt - Disentis they are operated by MGB and you get 50% discount on the regular fare with an InterRail pass <26. Usually you will have to change trains at Visp or Brig, Andermatt and Disentis.
From Disentis to Chur and St. Moritz trains are operated by RhB, which is included in InterRail - no extra costs. Trains run directly to Chur, if you want to go to St. Moritz you will have to change at Reichenau-Tamins.
- Glaicer Express:
Is jointly operated by MGB an RhB and operates the whole route without changes. In addition to the ticket for the MGB part you will need a reservation (as you can see in the Glacier Express topic). The train consists of Panorama Cars which provide a very nice view - but the regular regional trains are of good quality as well.
Same for the Bernina Express.
- Regional trains: Operate on the whole route St. Moritz - Tirano - no reservation needed, just hop on the trains as you want to.
- Bernina Express: Operates Chur/Davos/St. Moritz - Tirano, consists of panorama cars and requires a reservation.
If you want to stay on the cheap side, go with the regional trains, the spectacular scenery remains the same. ;) The pano cars of GEX and BEX are nice, moreover you dont have to change, but it will cost you quite a lot extra for the reservations.
About connections: I would need to know when and where you want to go.

PS: I'm currently editing articles about GEX and BEX for the forum, so there will be more information soon. ;)

I would recommend going Göschenen - Andermatt - Disentis/Muster - Reichenau-Tamins - Samedan - Pontresina - Tirano. So you get the best parts of both routes.
I've finished editing both topics, you find them in the Swiss country section. :)
