Hello everybody.
I'm planning a route from Trondheim, I have already choose my itinerary but now I have the typical question about the reservations and the night trains.
My plan is:
10th November
Trondheim-Östersund D381
Östersund-Sundsvall R7625
Sundsvall-Ånge R7628
Ånge-Bräcke X2578
Bräcke-Kiruna NZ94
11th November
Kiruna-Gällivare IC95
Gällivare-Luleå NZ93
13th November
Luleå-Bräcke NZ7006 (departure at 19:57, so it counts like 14th November, isnt it?
14th November
Bräcke-Östersund R7620
Östersund-Trondheim D384
Are you agree with me that it would be 3 inter-rail days? instead of 4 I say.
I can see that I will take 5 different trains: R, D,X,IC and NZ and I have the following questions:
I have looked in the veolia webpage and I have found that R and D does not need reservation. Is it true?
NZ trains need reservation and I have to buy also a seat?
X train needs reservation, is not it?
I have not found nothing about IC train, the only thing I know is that means InterCity.
And lastly, the first train I take is in Norway. Should I take another ticket from Trondheim to Norway-Sweden Frontier, is not it? and the same for the last day.
Please, help me with this.
Thank you very much

Hi!
You are right, it is 3 InterRail days. And you will need additional tickets for the part in Norway (on both legs).
Since you are travelling with a One Country Pass there is no discount for Trondheim - Swedish border (you would get one with a Global Pass if you are a Norwegian resident).
You will need a ticket Trondheim - Storlien and retour.
- Why Sundsvall - Bräcke via Aange? You would have to buy a 7€ reservation for the X2 (X2 is the train category) - even if it's only some 18 minutes. And the NZ 94 stops in both Bräcke and Aange.
You will need reservations for the following trains:
- X2 578 (7€)
- NZ 94 :arr: https://rail.cc/en/stockholm-narvik-night-train/f3837
- NZ 7006 as above

Thank you flow for your fast answer!
So, with the One Country Pass there is no discount in another countries. Ok.

That is a good question that I ask myself. I can take 3 ways:
A) If I go from Sundsvall directly to Bräcke, I will have to be in that city near 5 hours. Take the NZ in Bräcke.
B) In the other hand, If I stop in Ånge, I will spend 2 hours in that city, I will take other train (X2) to Bräcke and I will be there 2 hours (the problem is that this train is IR+7€). Take the NZ in Bräcke
C) Lastly, I can stop in Ånge, be there for 4 hours and take the NZ there.
What do you recomend? 4 hours in Bräcke , 4 hours in Ånge or (2hours+2hours+7€) visiting 2 cities.
So, the only thing I have to have in mind is that I have to bring the reservation and the seat of those 3 NZ trains already bought in order to show them to the man of the train. Truth?
Thank you very much again
PS: It is my first IR !!

How about option D: ;)
Sundsvall Central 1652 - 1912 Gävle Central :arr: X-Taget 8367, included in InterRail
Gävle Central 1953 - 0921 Kiruna Central :arr: NZ 94, as above
+ More time in Sundsvall
+ More time to sleep on the night train
- No possibility to visit Bräcke and Aange (but I think there wont be much worth to do.
Otherwise, just get your reservations for the night trains - either at a bigger NSB station or via bokatag.se and enjoy your trip! :)

You are very friendly telling me a route D !!
Do you think that 1 more hour in Sundsvall is better that 4 hours in other town?
The first part of the question likes me, but If at least I could have more than half an hour in Gavle it would be perfect. At Gavle I would not be able to move away very far to the Station because I would be nervous for the NZ train. Furthermore, I think not walking since 16:52 in Sundsvall until 9:21 in Kiruna is too much. That is why I think is better to stop in Bräcke (at least) and walk.
But anyway, I am very grateful for your answer. Still being so cute!

Other trains Sundsvall - Gävle:
1232 - 1452 :arr: free
or
1408 - 1603 :arr: 7€ reservation
I honestly think there aint much to do or see in Aange or Bräcke. And you'll be able to walk when you're on the train. Have a look at the buffet car to get some coffee, or just walk around a little if you feel to. I know there's not much to do on a train (especially when travelling alone) but you arent stuck on your seat. ;)
And if you travel the whole way Gävle - Kiruna I think it is worth considering travelling in a couchette.

Hello again.
I have already the IR pass and I only have to do the reservation of one train.
For the other two NZ trains I have used the Veolia webpage (bokatag) and It works perfectly. But the last NZ train, the webpage says that Veolia does not runs with this train.
So, where can I do the reservation for the NZ93 Gällivare-Luleå the 11th of November at 18:42-21:04?
In the other hand, I have introduced again the data in the [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux] webpage and I have checked the Local transport box. And the sistem gives me another different train:
instead of the NZ93 train:
Gällivare station Th, 11.11.10 dep 18:42 NZ 93 Nachtzug Subject to compulsory reservation, 2nd class only
Luleaa Central Th, 11.11.10 arr 21:04
it gives me:
Gällivare station Th, 11.11.10 dep 18:42 R 93 Regionalzug Subject to compulsory reservation, 2nd class only, Bordrestaurant
Boden Centralstation Th, 11.11.10 arr 20:35
Boden Centralstation Th, 11.11.10 dep 20:40 R 7007 Regionalzug 2nd class only
Luleaa Central Th, 11.11.10 arr 21:04
What is the true train? the NZ or the two R trains ?
If the R trains exists, then is better for me, because I dont need a night train for an evening. And it will be cheaper.
Thank you for everything

Hi.
It is a NZ train and as much as I know you will need a reservation for it (~ SEK 35 / ~ EUR 3,50).
Gällivare station dep: 1842 | NZ 93
Luleaa Central arr: 2104
Try the sj.se website directly.

Hi!
I have not much time right now since I'm at university but it may be that you wont need a reservation for Gällivare - Lulea.
Both connections are the same train - it just serves two different purposes.
NZ 93 is the night train for overnight journeys to southern Sweden. The R 93 is the same train (as you can see from the identical number) but serves as a regional connection for the cities up north - same applies for the R 7007. I suspect you wont need a reservation for going only Gällivare - Lulea on NZ 93 since it isnt an overnight connection. :)
However, I cant give you a guarantee on that...maybe I can find more info but I'm not sure if that's possible in time for your journey. Maybe you can ask locally and then tell us their answer?

Thank you. I thought so, but finally I have booked for the NZ93 train too. It was only 3,5€ and leaves me be sure and not worried about that.
So, I have all paper I need. I only have to make a good backpack.
I will tell you how it has gone when I go back.
Regards
