It's very easy to find a list of top 10 cities to visit in Europe, and I am interested in cities, but also in places of great natural beauty. What are the best natural places to visit in Western Europe and spend a few days in? The Black Forest sounds amazing, but I'm also interested in places I may not necessarily have heard of. Be it forests, mountains, glaciers, caves, lakes or rivers, I want your opinions :)

- Jungfraujoch (Switzerland) or alternatively and more affordable one of the dozens of other Swiss mountains reachable by cog railway or funicular.
- The Aletsch glacier (Switzerland as well)
- I too can recommend the Petit Train Jaune, as well as the High Pyrenees south of the Pau-Lourdes-Tarbes area
- Does not really fit Western Europe, but: the railway line from Kiruna to Narvik in Swedish and Norwegian Lapland
- Gorges du Verdon in the Provence (France): Europe's own Grand Canyon
- The Rhine valley between Koblenz and Mainz (Germany)
- Many caves to be found in the Pyrenees, or otherwise in Belgium (Han, Remouchamps).
On the other hand, I personally think the Black Forest isn't THAT spectacular... but opinions differ, obviously :) .
