Hi everyone, five friends of mine and I are planning our next InterRail during Summer'11. We already have the route ready but we are not sure enough about if it's possible, so I'm posting it in order to take help and advice. Please give me as many comments and reviews as you can, especially about how to book the night trains and ferries, days you would delete or put in...
It's a 22 days Global pass, but we'll be traveling 25 days: the ticket will start on the third day so as to have it on validation at the end of the trip.

Hi.
A good and interesting route.
Concerning the booking of night trains please read here: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
As you stay in most of the cities for some days, just buy the ticket for your night train at the station at your day of arrival. This should be fine especially in Eastern Europe.
If you want (and know your exact travel dates), you can book the night train Krakow-Prague and Vienna-Venice already in advance at the station in Budapest.
In Italy simply avoid the Eurostar Italia (ES) trains (supplement EUR 10) and use the free IC trains.
You will find them with the schedule planer.
And on the ferry you always get a ticket for the deck passage.

It's a really good point to know that in Eastern Europe nobody can book online. I'll book the Istanbul-Bucharest the first day in Turkey - it's the one I'm more afraid of. And I hope not to have any problem with the other ones.
Concerning the kind of ferry ticket I've already thought about the desk passage; it's the free one in most of companies - we'll sleep on sleeping bags ;)
Anyway, I'll go on reading all topics in order to improve my route. In fact I'm looking forward for the new website!
Thank you one more time, Peter :)
