Hiya

I'm currently in the process of planning my route using [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux] and was just wondering how reliable the timetable is, does it change alot? My route is pretty tight timewise (i think) so I'm relying on the trains I've planned to use being there.

Also one more thing regarding train stations, I'm going to places such as Krakow, Prague & Vienna, is it fairly easy to work out which train you've planned to get on and do you need to make a reservation? Also is it a case of just hopping on the train or do you need to show your pass to someone beforehand?

Hi.

Most of the systems use the same databases. I recommend you this one, as you have more options like avoiding HST (high speed trains), trains with supplements, ...
Better to find out trains which you can use for free with InterRail.
https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

Then do it step by step:

1) Use the schedule planer mentioned above.

2) Compare it to the supplements section:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation

3) Check the country topics to find information about how to avoid supplements and for example supplements for night trains, ...
https://rail.cc/en/countries

If the train don't need a supplement, just enter it, sit down and fill in your InterRail pass the route you travel.

Cheers again buddy, with regards to booking reservations, is it possible to do this in advance?

There's a night train I'll be using to Wien and i'd obviously need to reserve it, is it a case of doing it the day you arrive in the city or is there someway of doing it in advance?

Hi.

Concerning online reservations read this topic:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation

You can buy a reservation already some days in advance as well in an other country than the departure country of the train.

Hi,

I just started to plan my trip for july. but it seems that train schedules for july are not published yet? I tried several times berlin - madrid and other connections but there are no results:
https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

Does anybody know the date when the train schedules for summer (especially july) will be available?

thanks in advance

Hi,

each year in mid-december there is the general timetable change in most European countries - online databases for the next year arent fully updated as of now. Just wait a few weeks, then you wont have troubles organising your trip. :)

Hi Flo,

thanks - this is what I thought but was not sure.
It's not easy to have patience, I can't wait to plan the trip - but seems I have no other option.

Thanks a lot :)

I know this feeling... ;)

If you cant wait, you can already make up a rough plan with the current timetable - usually changes are minor so you only have to adapt it a little when the new schedules are all available.
