Hi!

Please give me an example for a route where these trains run - there is no such category in the ÖBB schedule planner which I normally use. :)

For example,
I search from Munich to Budapest on dates-time from 20 Nov 11:40PM and can see train type TRN Autres 463.
Or from Koeln Hbf to Frankfurt Main on dates 20 Nov 11:53AM and I can see train type TRN Autres 2023.
And many other examples around Europe.
Do I need to reserv seat at this trains and pay any cost?
Thx

The 463 is an EuroNight train for which you will have to make a reservation: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/munich-budapest-en-463/55
The 2023 is an InterCity train where you dont need any reservation, just board the train.

Where have you been looking up those trains? I would recommend to use another schedule planner using the HAFAS software which shows you detailed information including train category for most trains in Europe. :arr: For instance this one: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
Then you can compare the search results with the list of trains which require a supplement/reservation here: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
