Hi,

We arrived in the UK on 9th of April 2010 from Australia. We depart London for Germany on the first leg of our 6 week travel through Europe by train on the 26th of September 2010. Our arrival and departure dates from London fall just short of 6 months. Or alternatively are we able to use the pass if we decided not to activate it until the 9th of October, even though by tat point we would be well into Europe? Do you know if we are still eligible for an Inter rail ticket? Also I have a full UK passport and my husband has a 2 yr Visa.

Thanks for the help

Hi.

You need the 6 months stay in Europe which you have to proof by visa.
It is no problem to buy now your InterRail passes starting from the 9th of October 2010 (6 months completed then), start traveling at the end of September, have your InterRail tickets with you and use them wherever you are in Europe - absolutely no problem. :)
But before you will need single train tickets ... it shouldn't be a problem if you travel on a normal train ticket by Eurostar to Paris, stay there for some days and so on ...

The important thing is not the passport - it is your country of residence. If your UK passport shows that you lived in Australia the past years, it won't help you getting an InterRail ticket earlier.

And if you want to support our work, buy your official InterRail pass via: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] - thank you. :)

Have a sunny trip, Peter :)
