hi!
i planned to accomplish the above travel tour in 22 days. departure in frankfurt a.m. (19.09.10), arrival in warsaw (10.10.10) -> amazing date.
First i also wanted to visit london, but then because of the euro star i changed my mind.
Don't wonder that my tour start and ends in 2 different countries. my parents will start holidays in warsaw the day before my arrival, so i will end my tour there.
what do you think? i also planned 1 or 2 more cities in my route, but have no idea which one. maybe amsterdam, lyon or milano. what are your suggestions?

Hi.
On your way back from Paris to Monaco, add the Petit Train Jaune:
https://rail.cc/blog/little-yellow-train-video/
https://rail.cc/en/train/marseille-to-nice
In between Venice and Prague, think about the route:
Venice - Ljubljana - Zagreb - Budapest - Prague
https://rail.cc/en/venice-ljubljana-train/f3664
https://rail.cc/en/ljubljana-zagreb-train/f4001
https://rail.cc/en/budapest-prague-night-train/f1469
Of course you can add Amsterdam on your way from Frankfurt to Paris.
Check the country topics to find out on how to avoid the trains with supplements:

Hi
I wouldn't really suggest you Lyon or Milano. Believe me you won't lose much if you don't visit these two cities.
But Amsterdam is really a diffrenet place and must be seen ;)

And i can also say that if you want to visit another different place i suggest you Gent in Belgium.
Just check it out !

Hey! Thank you!
I also think that Netherlands and Belgium have to be seen, but I live near Frankfurt (aM) and both countries are not so far away from here.
So I would prefer to visit some cities more far away. Amsterdam and Belgium can wait ;)
Unless you think there are no more cities worthwile to visit (on my route!)

i couldn't find it by google. the cities name has a mort at the end.
ever heard of it? maybe even visited? can you recommend me to visit it?

Hello!
Two more questions:
1. I have thougt about buying a bus ticket for around 35€ and to drive to Paris (or Amsterdam) 3 days before my interrail ticket starts.
What do you think about that. Could be there any problem i am right now overseeing?
2. Do you recommend me to buy the 10 days in 22 days?
i will visit around 9 cities. and warsaw would be my 10th and last day.
how many time i have to spend for the Petit Train Jaune?

Hi.
The bus sounds okay.
The Petit Train Jaune: check the schedule planer...
But it is an extra trip and will cost you in most cases one more travel day.
So the 10 in 22 sounds good for you.

Hey Peter.
i think i will take the regular 22 days for 309€, because i planned to travel by night. The problem: i have to start after 19:00 and travel at least until 4. for example: on the route bordeaux-barcelona you have to change the train at least on time (if i did't overlooked something). so it would count as 2 days.
you agree with me? or do you have any suggestions?

Hi.
If you travel by day trains you will need only one travel day.
Example:
Bordeaux-St-Jean dep: 0829 | TEOZ train (all trains from the West to the East are on this line TEOZ trains with a supplement - you can not avoid them)
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/france/fr
Narbonne arr: 1201
Narbonne dep: 1220 | Regional train - free of supplements
Perpignan arr: 1304
Perpignan dep: 1346 | Regional train - free of supplements
Port Bou arr: 1427
Port Bou dep: 1559 | Regional train - free of supplements
Barcelona Sants arr: 1839

Another question =)
Do you think this rucksack is good enough for my journey?
www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0027Q8G7E/
another one i also found (but a bit smaller): www.amazon.de/Bigpack-Rucksack-VENETO-BLACK-DEEP/dp/B001MJ0DG4
I planned to take with me:
-one pair of long trousers ( another one i will wearing at the beginning)
-2 pair of shorts
-3 shirts (a 4th one wearing)
-1 rainjacket
-1 sweatshirt
-7 pair of socks and 7 boxer shorts
- a pair of shoes
-travelbook
-big bottle water (sometimes 2) (i am drinking a lot)
-toothbrush + paste
-gel, hairspray
-razor, shaving foam
-deodorant, perfume
beside that money, visa card, ticket, passport, camera, ipod nano
by the way you could check if everything important is on the list
Thanks!

Go for the bigger one.
Better to have some space extra.
Think about adding a small pocket-knife. Always good to open the beer, the bottle of wine or if you eat some food out of the supermarket.
And shampoo is very useful to wash clothes, the pocket knife and your body - one for all.

You probably mean Aigues-Mortes. Havent been there yet but it looks quite nice. However, it's not so close to Monaco as you might think - have a look at the timetable here: telechargement.ter-sncf.com/Images/Languedoc_Roussillon/Tridion/06-Nimes-LeGrauDuRoi_HD_tcm-22-43595_20100901_1337.pdf
There are plenty of nice cities around Monaco though - Antibes, Villefranche, Grasse, Mougins etc...

Hi!
I just created a plan for my trip:
[Ticket - 10 in 22 days - will be valid from the 19.09.2010 to the 10.10.2010]
(15.09.2010, 20:30) Frankfurt -> Paris (16.09.2010, 7:00) [by Bus]
-> daytrip to Versailles
(19.09.2010, 18:50) Paris-> Bordeaux (19.09.2010, 22:29) [by TGV]
(23.09.2010, 8:29) Bordeaux -> Barcelona (23.09.2010, 18:39)
(27.09.2010, 9:50) Barcelona -> Perpignan (27.09.2010, 19:21) [by Le petit train]
(28.09.2010, 8:05) Perpignan -> Nice (28.09.2010, 15:04)
-> daytrip to Monaco [by train]
(01.10.2010, 5:53) Nice -> Pisa (01.10.2010, 14:24)
[Info: I only want to visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa)
[[(01.10.2010, 20:01) Pisa-> Florence (01.10.2010, 17:20) ]]
(02.10.2010, 17:20) Florence -> Roma (02.10.2010, 21:04)
-> daytrip to Vatican
(06.10.2010, 10:54) Roma -> Venecia (06.10.2010, 21:03)
(07.10.2010, 21:05) Venecia -> Prague (08.10.2010, 11:40) [by 2 night trains]
(10.10.2010, 10:11) Prague -> Warsaw (10.10.2010, 18:24) [by EC 111]
I add Florence above, because I wouldn't make it from nice to rome over pisa by one day.
But i would prefer a plan without Florence, because of two reasone:
1. I would have not much time for Florence and I think I should spend for this city at least 3 days.
2. There would be no space in my plan. If I would skip florence. I would have one more day for one of the citites I listed above.
Maybe I will just spend a night in Pisa and the following day i will aim for roma.
What do you think of the route?
My problem is that i want to start from nice in the morning then visit pisa (just for the Leaning Tower) and finally reach roma in the evening the same day. Is that possible? Do you know if there are any night trains from nice to pisa?
How much time I should plan for Versailles?

Hi.
There is no night train between Nice and Pisa. If you want you can include a night train on the part of the route Torino-Pisa for 4 hours. But it isn't worth! Then better stay in a hostel and get up early.

Hello!
I thank you very much! You are a great help to me. The route is more or less clear.
But I have problems to find something cheap in paris. i thought to go in a (youth) hostel, because there I will find new people and also it is much cheapier than a hotel. The only things I need is a bed and a save place where i can lock up my rucksack. I will be there only at night, so i don't need much luxus, only a good connection into the city.
Have you some recommendation for me? I wanted to spend not to much. I thought somesthing about 25€ per night.
I am in Paris from 16.09.10-19.09.10. So I need a hostel for 3 nights.
What do you think of this Hostel:
Auberge de Jeunesse Le D' Artagnan
maps.google.de/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=de&geocode=&q=Auberge+de+Jeunesse+Le+D%27+Artagnan&sll=51.151786,10.415039&sspn=16.647185,39.506836&ie=UTF8&hq=Auberge+de+Jeunesse+Le+D%27+Artagnan&hnear=&ll=48.856245,2.346268&spn=0.065282,0.154324&t=f&z=13&ecpose=48.85594204,2.40710074,2732.29,-0.042,7.978,0&iwloc=A

Hi.
I often stay in the St. Christophers - it is close to Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est. You can find it via [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux]
But in Paris you can reach all important places easily by Metro - so it is not really important if the hostel is in the north, south or wherever. :)
I do not know the Auberge you mentioned.

Thanks Peter!
I see there is no room free for 3 days. The only possibility is to change the room on the 3rd day. Do you have any idea if that is possible by check-out at 8 at the morning and check-in maybe by 10 at the evening?

This shouldn't be a problem as they have a room to leave your luggage.
And if you show a booking for 2 days in room A and 1 day in room B (total 3 days) I think they can arrange something for you to stay in one room all the time.
Flow is using sometimes an other hostel, but I don't remember it...

Hey! I'm in Bordeaux and now trying to find a place for a night in perpignan (27.09.2010)
There are two around the hostels, but I have to pay for two persons and pay around 70€. Do you know a cheaper way to stay overnight?
Another question: Do I have to reservate a train which is free of supplement or do I am just allowed to take the train without any reservation?

Hey!
I am now in Nice. I recognized now the following problem. I can book from here almost everw connection, except of the train from Salzburg to Prague early in the morning and Prague to Warsaw, but the first one I can book in Italy, where I am spending around 5days, so enough time for a reservation. The last one is a problem.
I have read that the train can be only booked from the Chech Republic or a neighbour country. The first neighbour country I will arrive is Austria with the night train, but maybe there won`t be enough time to make a reservation at all. So the worst case is a reservation in Czech Republic. I will stay there only for 2 days, the reservation will be made the day before yesterday.
Is that enough time? the train heading to warsaw is an EC111 Link: xxxxxx - linke timed out, please write the times directly here in the forum - thank you
Is it possible to make an online reservation?

Hi!
- When do you arrive in Austria - and where? Is it the night train from Venice to Vienna? And you leave at Salzburg to catch the train to Prague? Then you wont be able to make the reservation at Salzburg since the ticket office will be closed at night
- But, I think 2 days in advance should be enough to make the reservation in CZ directly. :)
