Hi,

A friend and I have booked a return flight to Split from the UK, allowing ourselves approximately 18 days for the following route. Please comment on its feasibility. I realise that we may be being too ambitious, given the relatively short duration of the trip, but we are keen to visit Budapest, Istanbul and Belgrade in particular.

Split-Budapest-Bucharest-Istanbul-Thessaloniki-Belgrade-Split

Thanks very much,

Dominic

Hi Dominic.

You can definitely do it using overnight trains.

Split-Budapest (the night train doesn't run every day - but there are several day train connections as well via Zagreb):

The Croatian country topic with more connections (via Zagreb):

Bucharest-Istanbul: https://rail.cc/en/bucharest-istanbul-night-train/f1639

Istanbul-Thessaloniki: https://rail.cc/en/istanbul-athens-train/f2369

Thessaloniki-Belgrade: https://rail.cc/en/thessaloniki-skopje-belgrade-night-train/f1636

Belgrade-Split: https://rail.cc/en/belgrade-split-dubrovnik-train/f4144

Have a look at the schedule planer which will give you a lot of information:

Then always check the country topics for more details:
