Hey, first of all im a new traveller, so forgive me :D
Also i like to note future-traveller since i never travelled before... :os

Ok, i have this wish, for quite some years, i want to get out and break free.... has you see its my big wish to go to Amsterdam. But im Portuguese (dont know why that would matter but meh), and i would like to know 3 big things.....

Thing number one, if im going to Amsterdam, it wont be a one one country trip, so could you please tell me other countrys in between Netherlands with landmarks or interesting scenario?

Second..... What should i take on a trip such has this? what kind of clothes? What kind of food should i bring? Since im considering for a 1 month trip how much money should i have in my pocket (Age 20).

Third, is there any kind of place or association i could find people with the same goal has me, people i could tag along with (since i consider that way to have a much safer trip).

Note: im planing this to be in 2014, so yeah i have a little time.... i just want to get enough money for it, organize some stuff..... but i tell you what, this is a dream i wont leave behind...... i will do this... could be sooner... but never later...

Thanks for your Help :D

Hi.

Still a long time to plan for... :)

1) There are several possibilities... cross Spain, then the Pyrenees, trough France (Paris), Belgium (Bruxelles). From Amsterdam you easily can reach Berlin, Prague, etc... if you have the time of 1 month, make a round trip trough Europe with main goal Spain.
Read here: https://rail.cc/en/first-interrail-tour/f3303
Read this topic as well with some ideas of trips: https://rail.cc/en/forum-rail-travel

2) It depends of the season you travel. I suppose in summer? You do not need a lot - I have clothes for 4-5 days with me, then I wash them in a hostel - no problem - try to keep your backpack as small as you can.

3) Calculate like this:

PETER DAY:
- accommodation: EUR 20-25
- food: EUR 5
- extras: EUR 5
- beer: EUR 5
TOTAL PER DAY: ~EUR 40 (it always depends on the countries you travel to. In Amsterdam you will have to pay for a hostel EUR 25, in Budapest EUR 10).
More information about hostels: [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux]

TOTAL FOR THE TRIP: 30 days X 40 EUR = ~ 1200 EUR
Of course you can save a bit... but you have to calculate including ticket ~ EUR 1500 for ONE month in Europe.

4) Within the next weeks the new version of the website starts. Then you can find other travelers with profiles here as well.

Peter :)
