Hey everyone.
I was hoping someone could help me with a few questions I have...
I'm travelling with some friends later in the month - this forum has been a godsend and I've used it pretty much daily for searching supplements and connections!

But I need to ask...

1. How likely is it that the timetables (from the search engine) will change before I leave? Cause we've already planned every journey and booked hostels around it etc...
and
2. Can you drink on European trains? We have some 9 hour journeys and a few beers may help the time go be faster.

Hope someone can help me!

Hi.

1) The schedules won't change - they only change on the second weekend in June and the second in December (but the changes are always very small - some minutes less or more).
Pay attention: as some special night trains only run during the summer months - and end at the end of August, beginning of September. Use the schedule planer with your travel date.

2) In some trains you can buy something to drink, but it is expensive. I always have my own beer or bottle of wine with me. :)
Check as well the schedules as some long distance trains have stops in between where you can leave the train and buy some new beer outside - but I recommend to have your own with you.
In Eastern European night trains you can often buy beer directly from the staff. It is not the official way, but they earn a little bit extra money then. In most cases 0.5 beer for EUR 1.

Peter :)

Thanks for the reply Peter!

Glad to know that the timetables won't change because I'd already checked all the times.!
