Ok so me and two of my friends are currently inter-railing (and having a great time!) but we are a bit stuck. In Bratislava at the moment and heading to Budapest tomorrow and then we aren't sure and would like some advice...this is the plan so far...
Thursday: Budapest-Zagreb
Saturday: Zagreb-Split
Tuesday: Split-Ljubljana
and then maybe Venice. One of the group only has a 22 day pass that expires on Wednesday 11th and therefore we need to be near enough an airport that does cheap flights back to the UK and are concerned that this route may (a) be a rush and a lot of time on the train (b) could be done easier if done via other cities or in a different order? We have heard good things about Split and the nearby islands, but are there other beaches in Croatia that are just as nice? Also heard good things about Lake Bled, may it be better to miss Split all together?? We are very much wanting some relaxing time so Split or Bled have to be in there!
Look forward to responses and thank you in advance

Maybe it is better to travel Zagreb-Rijeka (stay there at the beaches of the islands of KRK and CRES) then continue to Ljubljana:
Zagreb - Rijeka by day train, then to Ljubljana: https://rail.cc/en/rijeka-ljubljana-train/f4774
Ljubljana - Venice: https://rail.cc/en/ljubljana-venice-train/f3663
In Italy avoid the expensive Eurostar Itlaia trains (EUR 10), use the free IC trains.
