Hi,
I am a 20yr old guy from Austria and spent this summer in France, currently in Languedoc-Roussillon near Montpellier.
I want to travel home to Austria, Vienna with Interrail. Can I buy a ticket (country or global pass) for France in France? 5/10 days is probably best? Which routes seem to be most interesting to you? I have about 500€ left so I can travel with ease.

Hi.
I recommend you the 5 days in 10 InterRail Global Pass for EUR 159 (Youth, 2nd class) instead of a ONE country pass for France: 4 days in a month EUR 136:

As with the Global pass you can travel back until the Austrian border trough Germany, Switzerland or Italy.
Theoretically you can have a big tour ending up in Bratislava so that you only have a small fee from the border to Vienna.
For example Montpellier - Paris - Amsterdam - Berlin - Prague - Vienna
Definitely check the country topics for detailed route information (supplements, TGV, night trains, free trains to Amsterdam, ...)
Peter :)

Hi, thanks for your fast answer.
I already saw Paris few weeks ago and I´d rather travel more in the south of Europe. Travel costs in Austria are not relevant because I have a summer ticket.
Yes, 5/10 global pass for 159€ sounds good. My only concern was wether there would be a problem to buy it in France as an Austrian citizen.
What about: Montpellier-Lyon-Geneve or Zürich-Venezia-Vienna?

The route really depends on you ... :)
Zürich and Bern are nice - I would skip Venezia - too expensive and too much tourists.
And it should be possible to get the ticket in Montpellier main station - but you can also purchase it online via [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Then you support our forum and not only an anonymous company.
