Hi,

I'm very surprised threads about this have not been made! I'm looking at trips to take in Switzerland, and have found the following:

Zurich - Winterthur (IC)
Winterthur - Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall (S33)

Total journey should take just under an hour with very frequent trains - after a 5 minute walk you'll be able to see the Rhine Falls, Europe's largest waterfall.

I know the IC is free of supplements, but is the S33 free too? Can I just get on it with my InterRail pass? What about other services, like S16 or S12?

I am also looking to go to Uetliberg from Zurich; just 20 minutes away, and I'll be on top of a mountain overlooking the town and the lake. According to the DB website, it uses S10. Is this also free with InterRail?

Thanks :)

Hi.

As much as I know the S-Bahn service in Zürich is free to use - but you can not use the public transport by buses or trams.
