Hi,
2 of us are thinking about going interrailing and I wondered if you could tell us if this trip is possible and if theres anything to add to it so we get to see the best things along the way.
We'r going to do the 5 in 10 days one.
Flight from UK to Budapest. Then to Bratislava, Vienna, Prague, and then somewhere in Germany and then to Rotterdam to get the ferry back to UK.
We would like some ideas for after Prague - maybe Munich or Berlin, but both seem to maybe be a struggle to get to within our 10 days, so any ideas would be great.
Also would it be better to miss out Bratislava to give us this extra time? And we are open to gettin back to the UK by eurostar or other ways.
Thanks
Peter

Hi.
A lot of cities you want to see within 10 days - but it is definitely possible with 5 travel days.
Day 1
Budapest-Bratislava: https://rail.cc/en/budapest-bratislava-train/f5136
Day 2
Bratislava-Vienna: https://rail.cc/en/bratislava-vienna-wien-train/f3972
It is really short distance - if you want to save this travel day, buy a normal train ticket for about EUR 10.
Day 3
Vienna-Prague: https://rail.cc/en/train/vienna-to-prague
Day 4
Prague-Berlin: https://rail.cc/en/prague-berlin-train/f3360
Day 5
Berlin-Rotterdam:
By day train use the following connection until Amersfoort - where you change to an other IC train free of supplements to Rotterdam:
https://rail.cc/en/berlin-amsterdam-train/f2407
At the night train Berlin-Amsterdam you have to change in Eindhoven to a free IC train.
By ferry back home: https://rail.cc/en/ferry-netherlands-england/f1659
Use the schedule planer to find out more details: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
And if you want to support our work and the whole project, buy your official InterRail pass at [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you, Peter :)

Thanks for the info - after a bit more planning we've changed our route.
Uk flight to Berlin - Prague - Budapest - Salzberg - Zurich - Milan or Venice - flight back to Uk
Using the 5 in 10 days.
Is this route possible in this time and are all the trains included in the interrail?
Also do you need to be a UK youth hostel member to stay in hostels in europe or do they just give you a discount? Is it worth being a member?
Thanks

Hi.
The hostels booked via [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux] do not need any membership.
You can travel this route without any supplements. In Italy pay attention and do not use the Eurostar Italia trains. Use the free IC trains.
It is explained here on how to find them using the schedule planer: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
And check this topic as well: https://rail.cc/en/how-to-find-out-supplements/f5147
The country topics give you details about special connections: https://rail.cc/en/countries
