Hi, i have the 22 day global pass and just have a question about how to use it;
i just went to paris train station to reserve a direct train to Nice and there wasnt space available so had to go to Marseille, then to Lyon and then a train to Nice. I asked how long we need to book a train in advance and the guy said at least a week before for that train. Will it be like that in all countries for all trains? Most places we will be staying for 2 or 3 days so wont be able to reserve a seat that far in advance. I think the journey we are taking from Nice is to Milan so will there be the same problems getting that train aswell?? thanks for any help

Hi.
France is a bit special. Read this topic on how to get a seat in a TGV:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/tgv-sncf/42
In other countries except Spain it is much easier with reservations or supplements.
Always use the schedule planer, then check the supplements website and at the end the country topics.
If you do it right, you won't need supplements at all if you have a bit more time and do not want to use always high speed trains.
For example Nice-Milano can be done completely free of reservations or supplements:
Nice Ville Dep: 0723 | Regional train - free of supplements
Monaco-Monte-Carlo Arr: 0750
Monaco-Monte-Carlo Dep: 0806 | Regional train - free of supplements
Ventimiglia Arr: 0831
Ventimiglia Dep: 0858 | IC train - free of supplements - reservation possible for EUR 3
Milano Centrale Arr: 1255
