England-Amsterdam-Oslo-Stockholm-England

Hi All,

A friend and I are looking to have a 10 day (ish) holiday in Oslo and Stockholm. We're based in England and were looking at the possibility of flying to Oslo, then to Stockholm and then back to the UK. When I looked into it it seemed that a 5 days travel in 10 day Inter Rail ticket would probably be cheaper. Neither of us mind the train journeys as I'm sure there is some great scenery along the way that's just so long as it doesn't impact our actual holiday time too much i.e. we don't spend 8 of the 10 days on a train! :)

My first question really is is it viable to travel from the UK to Oslo and Stockholm then back all within 10 days and still have enough time to see the sights and have a few nights out etc or should we look to maybe squeeze a couple extra days into the holiday and get the 10 days travel in 22 days ticket.

If the 10 days ticket is viable then how easy would it be to maybe stop off in another country or two so that maybe the route was something like England > Amsterdam > Copenhagen > Oslo > Stockholm > England
or maybe even just England > Amsterdam > Oslo > Stochoml > England

Any other suggestions would be great. I'd also love to know if these are countries you guys would recommend or if you think that I'm missing an amazing destination from the route.
