Hi had planned on going travelling a bit later than this, but got a job and had to cram in alot of planning before I fly on the 2nd of August!!!
I am planning to get a 10 in 22 days flexi-pass.
Here is my basic idea so far:
2 - Berlin
3 - Berlin
4 - Berlin
5 - Berlin
6 (Pass starts) - Prague
7 - Prague
8 - Prague
9 - Prague w/ overnight train to Krakow
10 - Krakow
11 - Krakow
12 - Krakow w/ overnight train to Vienna
13 - Vienna
14 - Vienna to Budapest
15 - Budapest
16 - Budapest
17 - Budapest
18 - Budapest to Novi Sad
19 - Novi Sad to Belgrade
20 - Belgrade
21 - Belgrade
22 -
23 -
24 -
25 -
26 -
27 (Pass ends) - .............from somewhere to Istanbul
28 - Istanbul
29 - Istanbul
30 - Istanbul
31 - Istanbul
1 - Istanbul
2 - Fly Home :(
This is where I want to go so far, I have done interrailing before last year, but going with my gf this year instead and so am re-visiting some places that I loved such as Budapest and also going to new ones such as Berlin and Krakow.
We are really open to suggestions and after Belgrade have not quite decided how to get to Istanbul, it seems we should either go through Skopje/Thessaloniki or through Sofia, does anyone have any experience of these places or another suggestion?
Also if along my route you think I've missed something out that I should really see, feel free to say and I'll look into it, don't want to miss out on anything good!
Thanks for any help!

Hi Craig.
Sounds good your route.
If you want to add cities, think about Vienna (in between Krakow and Budapest) and on your way down to Istanbul have a stop in Sofia.
Then you can use the direct night train Sofia-Istanbul.
Via Greece it is from day to day different, as they are sometimes on strike this summer.
I think you know the details about your route as you railed before - otherwise check the country topics where you will find more information:

Or just ask here..... :)
Have a sunny trip, Peter :)

Ive been to both Skopje and Sofia, and while there both pretty cool they are also smallish with enough to keep a tourist interested for 2 days at most. If you have the time, see if you can get to Veliko Tarnovo, which is a student town in Bulgaria, with a big castle and plenty of nightlife to keep you entertained.

Hi Peter and SiDUDe,
Thanks for the advice so far.
We already have Vienna in there, but may add in Bratislava for a day.
