For some strange reason I decided to book my flight back to Dublin from Geneva, Switzerland. Flying on a Sunday. On the Thursday I will be in Sarajevo and am hoping to also visit Mostar (day trip, see the sights) before I leave the Balkans.

So what I am wondering and would appreciate any advice on is whether I should get to Switzerland over land (bus/rail) or should I head to Split from Mostar and get the ferry across to Italy and travel to Geneva by rail through Italy.

The ferries don't appear to run every day and the one that does (SNAV) is quite expensive. Around €85.

What would people recommend?

Hi.

I recommend you Mostar-Split by bus.

Split-Zagreb by train: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/zagreb-split-b821/129

Zagreb-Zurich by night train: https://rail.cc/en/zagreb-zurich-night-train/f1911

Zurich-Geneva by train: supplement free IC train.

Use the schedule planer for more details: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

Peter :)
