I was just wondering: if a hostel on [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux] doesn't say 'tax included', is it likely I'll be charged more than advertised when I get there? If so, how much is tax in Italy, particularly Venice? The hostels in Venice are so expensive as it is that I really don't want to get stung and end up spending more than I anticipate.

Also, because of the expense, we're looking to arrive at midday, stay one night, and get the night train to Munich at about 10pm the following evening. Is that enough time to get a nice look around the city?

Hi.

I do not have any information if there is an extra tax to pay for the hostels directly in Venice.
But like you said, Venice is extremely expensive and full of tourists. I always avoid staying there overnight.
