Hi.
Concerning reservations, please read this topic:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
You should be able to get these reservations as well in bordering countries of Hungary and Croatia.
Definitely in Austria, but as well in Germany.
Online booking is not possible.

Hi!
Is this a direct train to Split? I mean, do we have to change trains in Zagreb?
Thanks

update for Sept 2012?
Are the dates of availability still the same for this night train (until Aug 31st only)? I am looking to take a night train from Budapest to Zadar, ideally - would take Split destination and get off at Klin (?) but would be for Oct 10, 11, or 12th, 2012.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

So as I look at the sleeper and couchette options for this train - the only first class I see are 1 person rooms - is that correct?

Hej,
you can of course use all 2nd class accomodation as well! :)
1st class ticket holders can always travel in 2nd class but not the other way round.
On night trains, the best accomodation usually is available to 1st class ticket holders only: Single sleeper or Deluxe accomodation (although there are some exceptions of course). ;)

Hey Flow - thanks - We plan on buying two global passes and travel quite a few night trains - it will be my daughter and myself and although she is an adult (by her standards not mine), I would like sleeper double room accommodations for safety - I would have no issue if there were more than the two of us...
It looks to me like the only option for 1st class sleeper are singles - I've never seen that but I suppose it is possible - checking to see if you know whether there are indeed doubles or only singles.
If only singles, we will get to split from Ancona by ferry instead.
Thanks!

Hej Heidi,
if you want, you can of course use the Double sleeper accomodation with your 1st class Eurail passes! :)
Just as I explained. Single is available for 1st class holders only, all other types of accomodation (Double, T3/Tourist, couchette, seats) are available for 2nd and 1st class holders.
On the Budapest - Split night train, a bed in a Double cabin is 21€ (per person). Take care that the train does not run daily! ;)
